One Month in the Middle East

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

September was a month that brought German Cyber-Systems much closer to the market we want to build in.

We spent the month between Riyadh and Dubai, meeting people from hospitality, facility management, cybersecurity, technology and real estate operations.

Some meetings were planned weeks in advance. Others happened unexpectedly.

But almost every conversation gave us something valuable: a better understanding of what companies in the GCC actually need from technology.

For us, this month was not only about presenting German Cyber-Systems.

It was about listening.

Understanding how hotels and facilities operate today, where the challenges are and where our Cyber IoT-Hospitality Platform can bring real value.

Riyadh: Understanding the Market on the Ground

Saudi Arabia was one of the main focuses of September.

There is a big difference between researching a market from a distance and actually sitting in Riyadh speaking with the people working in it every day.

Our conversations covered areas such as hospitality, facility management, smart buildings, HVAC, MEP, infrastructure, cybersecurity and digital transformation.

One topic came up again and again:

Visibility and control.

Many properties already use different systems for rooms, maintenance, energy, access, building management and hotel operations.

The challenge is often not that there is no technology.

The challenge is that the information is spread across different systems.

This is one of the problems we want to solve with our Cyber IoT-Hospitality Platform.

One place to see what is happening across the property and to react faster when something needs attention.

Three Events, Different Perspectives

September also gave us the opportunity to attend three important industry events: LEAP, GISEC and SFMA Expo.

Each one gave us a different perspective.

At LEAP, the focus was on technology, innovation and digital transformation.

At GISEC, cybersecurity and the protection of increasingly connected environments were at the centre of the conversations.

And at SFMA Expo in Riyadh, the focus moved closer to the physical operations behind buildings and facilities.

Facility management, smart infrastructure, HVAC, maintenance, energy and automation were important parts of the discussions.

For German Cyber-Systems, these areas belong together.

A smart hotel is not only about a digital guest experience.

It is also about what happens behind the scenes.

Are the rooms operating correctly?

Are devices behaving as expected?

Is energy being wasted?

Does maintenance know about a problem before the guest reports it?

Can different teams see the information they actually need?

That is where operational technology and cybersecurity start to meet.

From Cybersecurity to Smart Hospitality

Cybersecurity remains part of the foundation of German Cyber-Systems.

With our Cyber IoT-Hospitality Platform, we bring cybersecurity, IoT and hotel operations together in one central environment.

The platform provides visibility across areas such as room status, IoT devices, HVAC, maintenance, housekeeping, energy usage, smart locks and operational alerts, depending on the systems connected at each property.

It works alongside existing hotel technologies rather than replacing them.

The result is a central operational layer that helps hotel and facility teams identify issues earlier, react faster and maintain better control across the property.

German Technology, Adapted for the GCC

September also confirmed something important for us:

Technology for the GCC needs to reflect the way businesses in the region actually operate.

That means considering local requirements, existing infrastructure, integrations, operational processes and the needs of different teams.

Our approach combines German technology and cybersecurity expertise with GCC market understanding.

The time spent in Riyadh and Dubai allowed us to present this approach directly to companies across hospitality, facility management, real estate and technology and to discuss where it can create measurable operational value.

More Than Events
The events were an important part of September, but the most valuable moments often happened outside the exhibition halls.

Meetings with companies.

Conversations with decision makers.

Discussions about real operational problems.

Feedback on our platform.

New introductions.

And sometimes conversations that started without any business intention at all.

For a company entering a new market, these moments matter.

They help turn assumptions into actual market understanding.

What September Confirmed for Us

September gave us an even clearer picture of the challenges operators are dealing with.

Hotels and facilities already generate large amounts of operational data.

The real value comes from turning this data into visibility and action.

Knowing when a room has an issue.

Seeing anomalies before they become bigger problems.

Connecting maintenance teams with the information they need.

Understanding energy consumption.

And bringing operational and security information into one central view.

These are exactly the areas the Cyber IoT-Hospitality Platform is designed to address.

What Comes Next

September was an important month for expanding our presence and relationships in the GCC.

The conversations in Riyadh and Dubai opened new opportunities across hospitality, facility management, smart buildings and technology.

Our focus now is on bringing the Cyber IoT-Hospitality Platform to more properties, expanding strategic partnerships and strengthening the presence of German Cyber-Systems across the region.

One month between Riyadh and Dubai created many new connections. Now it is about turning those connections into long-term business.
